About
I work in sales in the automotive supply chain. Helm's Pipeline is my notebook: a place to write down what I learn, mostly so that I understand it better myself, and partly in case it helps someone else.
The name comes from two ideas. A pipeline is how a salesperson sees future business. A helm is what keeps a ship on course. Most of what I write is about one or the other: how selling and quoting really work in a long-cycle industry, and how to keep a steady course alongside a demanding job.
